Before founding Rekord, Mark and Chris were software engineers building the cloud at Amazon Web Services. Frustrated by the outdated mortgage process when buying their own homes, they set out to use their skills in building cutting-edge technology infrastructure to modernise lending. In 2025, they started building Rekord.
